I like black.

I'm really drawn to things that are simple. The mark of a great piece, for me, is if it can be simple but still be interesting. Even if it's just for the impeccable construction, or the fit--like a white t-shirt that just drapes perfectly. That can never be boring. It's classic, it's timeless, it's above trends. Just like black--no matter what season, it always feels like the perfect thing to put on. It feels like me.

I also like rooftops. And cities. I've got maybe another good week of hanging out up here before it gets so hot that the chairs melt right onto the deck.

It's a nice place to take a break. I've been doing a lot of work lately on my apartment. I'm a little embarrassed to say that we're closing in on a year this summer, and a lot of projects have still yet to be realized. My current fixation is the coffee table--I can't seem to visualize what I want it to look like. Even looking at my Pinterest boards, I noticed that I rarely post pictures that include coffee tables. Go figure. The search continues. That'll probably be an entire post in and of itself.

I got these tiny gold rings on Etsy (visit the shop here...the lady is awesome). I've been wearing them every day since they got here about a month ago. They're really similar to ones I fell in love with on Catbird's website (hands down my favorite place for jewelry), but I just couldn't bring myself to pay so much for each one when I wanted so many. (You've got to pick your battles sometimes...) I actually still want a set in rose gold, and maybe silver. I think I'm going to have some smaller ones made to wear as first knuckle rings as well.
